Go anywhere
Fly from orbit down into a single valley without a seam, and stop wherever the view is worth it. Mountains, coastlines, rivers and the ocean floor sit where they really are.
The base game

The real Earth, yours to explore.
The whole living Earth without people, yours to explore as a nature photographer. Go anywhere, from orbit to a few centimeters off the ground, at any hour of any day, and catch the planet as it really is: its light, its seasons and storms, and the plants and animals living on their own terms.
Fly from orbit down into a single valley without a seam, and stop wherever the view is worth it. Mountains, coastlines, rivers and the ocean floor sit where they really are.
Choose your lens, focus and exposure, frame the shot from any vantage point, and keep it in a journal that records what, where and when.
Set any date and hour. The sun, moon, planets and stars are calculated for that moment and place, so golden hour, a full moon rising or an eclipse arrive exactly when they really would.
Green-up, flowers and fall color follow each place's weather, not a calendar. Storms, floods, wildfires and blizzards come and go as each climate makes them.
Plants, insects and animals live where they really live and behave as they do in nature. Keep your distance and they carry on as if you were not there.
A field guide that fills in as you explore: what each plant, animal and insect is, where and how it lives, its seasons and its place in the web of life, with your photographs and the source behind every fact. Made for classrooms and for personal study.
Every sunrise, storm and river is where and when the real Earth would have it, and it looks the way the real Earth looks.
Life Legacies: Earth runs on LifeGrid, our simulation of the real planet. The land and the seafloor come from satellite and survey elevation data, the imagery from NASA, the stars from real star catalogs, and the weather from each region's climate records.
The whole planet is there from the start, with full detail first in a few showcase regions: the Great Valley and the Chesapeake in the eastern United States, the mountains of eastern Anatolia and the rivers of Mesopotamia, and the Serengeti, the Mara and Ngorongoro in East Africa.
Earth is the base game; everything else builds on it. Two expansions are built on it. Wild goes deeper into the animals: you raise an animal family in these same places, follow their migrations and learn their ways, through the seasons and the generations. Origins goes the other direction, toward people: they arrive, and the family tree begins.
No. It is the whole planet without people: no cities, roads or farms, only the land, the sea, the sky and the life that belongs there. People arrive in Origins.
Yes. The whole planet is there from the start, from orbit to the ground. A few showcase regions have full detail first, with more added in updates.
Yes. The journal is a field guide with the source behind every fact, and Classroom mode adds lesson guides and discussion questions. It is just as good for your own exploration and study.
No. There is no score and no clock; it is a place to explore and photograph. Wild, an optional expansion, adds goals and goes deeper into the lives of animals.
As true as the record allows. The terrain, the sky and each place's climate come from scientific data, and Classroom mode shows the source behind every fact.

The road ahead
In development. Nothing is dated yet. Each part builds on the one before it; Wild is optional.
